Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are positive phrases or statements you can do to challenge negative or unhealthy thoughts. Practicing affirmations is as easy as picking a positive phrase such as “I am good enough.” and repeating it to yourself.

While it is easy to practice doing affirmations the most difficult part is controlling our self-talk. We tend to be harder on ourselves that anyone else. The first step to overcoming unhelpful internal thoughts is to be aware of them.

There is a science behind positive affirmations. Psychological studies have shown that our perception of having a sense of self-integrity can control the outcomes in our lives. Self-affirmations allow us to direct the narrative about ourselves and become more capable of adapting to different situations. These theories are backed up through evidence of changes in our brain when we practice self-affirmations. We will explore the specific practices and scientific proof in more updates to this part of the site. So stay tuned!
