The impact of your habits.
Everything we think, say and do is a result of habits we’ve developed through years and years of repetitious behavior. Habits can help move us forward or to hinder our desire to optimize our lives. As a matter of fact our current quality of lives right now is a direct result of our daily habits.
One of the great privileges of my corporate career was attending the BJ Fogg Behavior Design Boot Camp. BJ Fogg is a behavioral scientist at Stanford University and author of Tiny Habits, which teaches that small changes can change everything.
Habits, even the tiny ones, are more powerful than you might realize. These underlying behaviors shapes the direction of our lives. A study determined that 45 percent of everything we do on a daily basis is driven by habits.
Giving up bad habits and replacing them with good ones isn’t easy. It takes commitment and willpower. If you are committed to happiness and success, paying attention to your good and bad habits and changing those that don’t serve you can be your pathway to an optimized and enriched life and the fulfilment of our dreams.
Here’s a list of some of the habits we’ll focus on:
Gratitude
Morning Habits
Exercise
Eating healthfully
Sleep
Set Goals
Seek Inspiration
Budget
Over the course of this year we’ll add tools that can help you add good habits and give up the bad ones.
As soon as your eyes open it’s up to you how that day will go. Start it with some gratitude and self-love.
Waking Your Mind & Body
Awake with gratitude. Be thankful for the rest and for a new day. Say it out loud: “Thank you!”
Do some simple stretches before you even sit up like these Morning Stretches from Head to Toes.
As you rise take at least three long cleansing breaths; in through your nose for a count of 7 (slowly) and push them out through your mouth.
